He added dual wheels, 2 extra gas tanks, and air conditioning. The truck body is in great condition and has only 60K original miles on it. It's made several hunting trips to Alaska and northwestern Canadian provinces in the 70's and 80's, but has very limited local miles on it. He still uses it primarily for hauling tree limbs, etc or helping my husband take trees down out of our woods. The engine and body are in tip-top shape. We're wondering what the asking price should be for this gem?

When you say he put dually tires on it, did he swap the rear axel, or just swap over to dually rims with longer studs. If everything is original and the truck is rust free with very, little body damage, as in nothing that can't be repaired easily, then you could easily ask $4,000.00, and settle for a little less. Trucks are only valuable to certain people, and have next to no value in the colector car market that has become so popular. Not every old vehical is worth a ton of money.

Sometimes sentimental value is hard to get over. That being said someone that wants a quality older truck for a project vehical will pay for a working running example, that has been cared for. If the rubber is all shot the paint is faded, the body is all dinged up, then the price will be closer to $1,500.00-$2,000.00 dollars depending on sevarity, also oil leaks, when the brakes were last done, so on and so on. Remeber no matter the condition always clean the vehical out vacume the years of dust out wash the windows and body. The better you present the vehicle, the more likely you are to get what your asking.
